Finca Escalona

Find out about the project
Pedro Mozo is the third generation of farmers in his family and is determined not to be the last. In Villamartín, he runs a farm growing cereals and woody crops, where he has gradually introduced organic farming and practices aimed at restoring soil health.
His change in perspective began with a gecko under a stone. That little creature made him think about the life that was disappearing from the countryside and how his work could help to preserve it. He began to change the way he managed his trees even before he knew that many of those practices had a name: regenerative agriculture.
Since then, he has continued to develop the land with olive, almond and carob trees. He is driven by his connection with nature – particularly with birds and soil life – but also by the future of his family. He wants those who come after him to find the land in better condition, capable of continuing to produce and sustain life.
